This is the time of harvest; the grains have been brought in only the fruits are left for later in the year. Light and darkness has reached an equilibrium, as we transition from the summer months into winter.
Now is a wonderful time for reflection, to take stock of the successes of the year and what has been achieved. We can give thanks for what we have harvested in our lives.
The Goddess watches over out reaping in the embodiment of wisdom as the Crone, prepared to welcome God into the Land of Shadows, having laid down his life for the harvest. He awaits his rebirth in the cycle. Both he and the new incarnate of the Goddess grow in the womb of the Maiden aspect of the Goddess, awaiting their rebirth at Yule.
